20 Best TV Episodes Of 2018

16. Sorry, Baby - Killing Eve

Killing Eve Sorry Baby
BBC

All of Killing Eve's episodes were just about as good as each other, but Sorry, Baby just edges ahead of the back for the way it builds on the dramatic conclusion to the previous episode, Don't I Know You?, and ratches up the tension as the game of cat-and-mouse escalates to dangerous new levels.

The setting for all this excitement? The English countryside, of course.

Sorry, Baby works so well because it brings Villanelle to England, but also because, perhaps more than any other point, it makes it clear she's not just a villain. Yes, she's done horrible things, but just one episode after her worst crime yet the show still somehow makes us find sympathy for the devilish assassin.

It's here where everything starts to come together, drawing strands from the first episodes and setting things up for the endgame. It effortlessly flips from being hilarious to absurd, to painfully intense, with a thrilling climax that leaves you desperate to keep on watching more.
