20 Best TV Shows Of 2018

Bigger and better in its second season, GLOW is one of the only series to perfect the Netflix Original form. With just 10 episodes in the season, and each running around 30 minutes long, it completely avoids the bloat and drift that affects most of the big Netflix dramas, while ensuring that the season-long storylines pack enough in to keep you invested.

Season 2 is effortlessly binge-watchable, but without ever being empty: the episodes tackle serious, even relevant (despite the 1980s setting) issues and contain a lot of emotional storytelling and character development, especially between the two leads Ruth (Alison Brie) and Debbie (Betty Gilpin, who runs away with the show this year). Hell, even the show-within-the-show is stellar, and could feasibly carry its own season.

On top of that, though, the series is simply an absolute blast. It might not shy away from pathos, but it makes sure to bring a lot of humour and a feel-good factor few other shows can match, thanks to its colourful band of characters, inherent silliness, in-ring action, and 80s references
