20 Best TV Shows Of 2019

11. Stranger Things

The ‘80s nostalgia fest returned for its third season this year, and once again it absolutely nailed its scene setting and character dynamics. The plot, though not quite as focussed as Season One’s, was better put together than Season Two’s, and in general set things up very well for the final season next year.

The addition of Starcourt Mall added a new visual flavour to proceedings, while Maya Hawke, Cary Elwes and Alec Utgoff helped mix things up on the casting side. We got the same action set pieces told with the usual wit the show brings to the table, but reinvented with a new conspiracy angle.

Stranger Things has captured the hearts of so many viewers since its first season, and with that comes a lot of expectations. However, they’ve continued to shoulder the pressure expertly and look set to deliver a stunning finale.
