3. The Underground Railroad
This may be a bold statement, but The Underground Railroad is surely one of the most visually stunning TV shows ever made. Technically adventurous, beautifully photographed and unshakably haunting, it will stay with you long after its final episode has drawn to its breathtaking conclusion.
Luckily, the series isn't just awe-inspiring to look that, backing its visuals up with a searing tale of runaway slave Cora, who embarks on a fantastical journey whilst fleeing a vile slave catcher hot on her tail.
It packs a lot of drama and action into its ten-episode run, but The Underground Railroad maintains the feel and themes of Colson Whitehead's Pulitzer Prize-winning source material with every horrifying twist of Cora's traumatic getaway.
There have been plenty of great miniseries events in 2021, but this is unquestionably the best of them all.
