2. Better Call Saul (Season 6)

Severance Adam Scott
AMC

It started fourteen years ago with a chemistry teacher who became a drug lord, and it ended here, with the tragic farewell to shady lawyer and master con artist Jimmy McGill laying bare his sins and accepting responsibility for his actions. And what an ending it was.

Painstakingly paced, unsettling and eventually hopeful, Better Call Saul's sixth and final season is the show's magnum opus, charting Jimmy's final fall with limitless thrills, explosive performances, and a finale so satisfying and tragically necessary it even surpasses the various highs of its predecessor, Breaking Bad.

With career-best performances from Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seehorn, Better Call Saul bids a final goodbye to Jimmy, Kim, Mike, Gus, Lalo and Nacho with frightening intensity and flawless filmmaking. It's hard to imagine another show ending its story as confidently as this; we'll be talking about it for years to come.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
