20 Best TV Shows Of The Last Decade

Marvel Television / Netflix

Sadly, Netflix's mini-Marvel universe has come to an end.

Regardless of the swift and abrupt ending it received, superhero shows are at an all-time level of popularity, and while CW's Arrow gets the credit for starting the trend...it was Netflix's Daredevil that perfected it.

Daredevil has always been Marvel’s Batman; a layered anti-hero that operates in a world closer to a Scorsese movie than your average Disney fare. After a limp attempt at a cinema franchise, the proposition to explore the character on the small screen, with a mature angle, popped with potential. To make it work though, they would need the right talent in place.

Good thing we got the inspired hiring of Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll and Jon Bernthal. Yet, let's not forget the most perfect castings in the entire MCU; Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.

The vastly underrated character actor fit the role physically, but also carried the hefty chops to portray this fascinating and broken human.

Each season managed to feel like a step up to the last, with strong writing, fantastic acting and incredible action at its core. It resulted in a show that has set the bar immensely high for all that follows in the sub-genre.
