20 Doctor Who Actors Who Appeared in Sherlock

2. Rupert Graves

It's true, Sherlock's right-hand bobby did once team up with the Doctor to enforce justice across the universe. Although he has had a long-running career (with nearly 90 credits to his name on IMDB), after appearing on Sherlock as one of the show's principal characters right from the unaired pilot onwards, Lestrade has become a fan-favourite and by far Rupert Graves' most beloved role. So naturally many were elated when Graves appeared on Doctor Who back in 2012, opposite Matt Smith's Doctor. Graves played the larger-than-life big game hunter Riddell who the Doctor takes on a journey to a spaceship full of dinosaurs in the episode, erm, Dinosaurs On A Spaceship.
