Russell T Davies has "parked" the Master for now, and that's probably for the best. However, that doesn't mean we can't resurrect some of Doctor Who's other renegade Time Lords, does it?

The Meddling Monk would be a terrific addition to modern Doctor Who, particularly as the idea of a villain who rewrites history for fun feels quite pertinent in the age of fake news.

Sure, the Monk isn't exactly a season finale-level villain, but he'd make for a great midseason episode that's lighter in tone. After 19 years, isn't it time we finally have a bit of fun with the Time Lords?
