20 Easter Eggs You Didn't Notice In American Horror Story

19. The Boston Red Sox Die In The School Shooting

Tate Langdon was clearly a troubled young man. What sort of screwball goes to school dolled up in skeleton make-up? Oh, and there was also that nasty business of him setting his mother's boyfriend on fire and then taking out his remaining rage on the rest of the student body, machine gunning fifteen of his peers to death. It's a brutal bit of realistic violence in a series mostly centring on more ridiculous moments of blood and gore. Don't worry though, American Horror Story still managed to make this episode ridiculous: because among the fifteen students who died were the surnames Boggs, Stapleton, Gedman, Stanley, Greenwell, Mueller Rivera. Which are the surnames of members of the 1986 Boston Red Sox, who lost to the New York Mets in heartbreaking fashion in the World Series. The show's executive producer Brad Falchuk, is apparently a life-long fan of the Red Sox, and the references were out in there at his behest. A very jock-friendly Easter Egg.
