In the long line of regrettable Star Trek video games, 2013's Star Trek Into Darkness tie-in first person shooter was a critical and financial disaster. Full of embarrassing bugs, the game was even cited by JJ Abrams as one of the contributing factors for Into Darkness' somewhat disappointing box office returns.

To its credit, the Star Trek video game was designed to faithfully recreate the aesthetic from the Kelvin Timeline films, with new Enterprise interiors designed specifically for the game. In fact, as the films themselves only featured a handful of locations aboard the Enterprise, the game is the only way to see compartments such as the ship's escape pod launch bay or crew quarters.

Produced by illustrator Mike Sebalj, these glimpses into the Kelvin Timeline Enterprise continue Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness production designer Scott Chambliss' aesthetic choices and expand the limited information available to us about that incarnation of the famous vessel.
