20 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About Sherlock

17. Steven Moffat Doesn€™t Visit The Set

Sherlock is viewed by many as Doctor Who head writer Steven Moffat's baby. And while he's certainly a central force behind the show, with the writing style that has dominated the sci-fi adventure for the past few years shining through, he's not as involved as he is with Who. Whereas a show-runner typically has major control over the show, with Sherlock Moffat is really fitting the role of a conventional writer. By his own admission he only turns up on the set when something's gone wrong, which means the cast and crew getting to see him marks a very bad day. Fellow head writer Mark Gatiss is naturally on set more - he has to be Mycroft after all - and likely serves as an advisor for the show's directors.
