Hurricane Sandy (also unofficially known as "Superstorm Sandy", which is less scientific but also more terrifying and fearmongering) was the deadliest and most destructive hurricane of the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season, which is apparently a thing. It was also the second-costliest hurricane in United States history, smashing up the Northeastern coast. As of March 2014 estimates assessed property damage to have been over $68 billion, a total surpassed only by Hurricane Katrina. The real damage, though, was in people's viewing habits, with the power cuts in certain parts of the US meaning that people either missed Sons Of Anarchy when it aired, or their DVR wasn't working. Never fear, Kurt Sutter was...there! Acknowledging that more than a few thousand people probably didn't get to see the latest episode at the time, Sutter said he really wanted his "peeps in New Jersey" to know he cares., buying 5000 copies of episode 508 on Amazon Instant for afflicted viewers to catch up on.
