Hurricane Sandy (also unofficially known as "Superstorm Sandy", which is less scientific but also more terrifying and fearmongering) was the deadliest and most destructive hurricane of the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season, which is apparently a thing. It was also the second-costliest hurricane in United States history, smashing up the Northeastern coast. As of March 2014 estimates assessed property damage to have been over $68 billion, a total surpassed only by Hurricane Katrina. The real damage, though, was in people's viewing habits, with the power cuts in certain parts of the US meaning that people either missed Sons Of Anarchy when it aired, or their DVR wasn't working.
