16. Xander Was Played By Twins

It was a fairly common episode plot for one of Buffy's characters to face a doppelgänger of themselves with, at one time or another, Buffy fighting a robotic replica, Willow meeting her vampire self from an alternative dimension and Xander seeing double when his personality was split in two. In these technologically-enlightened times, it's easy to make it look like the same actor is playing two parts with some camera trickery. In the double Xander episode The Replacement, though, there was actually a far less high-tech way of doing it: in scenes when both Xanders stood next to each other, one was played by actor Nicholas Brendon's real life twin, Kelly. In fact, in later episode Intervention, Nicholas Brendon was too ill to work so Kelly stood in as Xander in scenes where he is a background character. The likeness is pretty uncanny.
