20 Mind-Blowing Facts You Didn't Know About The Walking Dead

6. It's The Highest-Rated Show In AMC History

AMC only got into original programming with Mad Men a few short years ago, but since then it's had some crazy hits on its hands. Besides the Continuing Infidelities Of Don Draper they also struck critical and commercial gold with Breaking Bad, arguably the most popular TV show of the past decade. Above both of them, however, is The Walking Dead, which as of 2014 it is the highest rated show in AMC history. What exactly does that big a hit look like on a micro level? The ratings have steadily increased across each season, with the first netting an average 5.24 million viewers an episode, compared to the fourth's 13.30. Things are only going to get better, too, with the fifth season premiere finding a record breaking 17.3 million audience members. Hoo boy.
