7. There Could've Been Spin-Off Episodes

Frank Darabont was too good for this world. The original showrunner on The Walking Dead was previously best known for directing the critically acclaimed Stephen King adaptations The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption (and the far less critically acclaimed The Mist), but now he might be more notorious for the guy who got fired from being showrunner of The Walking Dead. In an online interview it was revealed that he wanted to do self-contained stories that didn't involve the main characters, planning for the second season premiere to follow the soldier who winds up trapped in the tank (and zombified) in the first season. Sadly, it was never to be, and might not've helped the show's pacing issues but might've been cool. Still, there's that whole promised spin-off series still on the cards...
