The question on everybodys lips seems to be when will Starling City stop calling their hooded hero the unimaginative name of The Hood, and give him his true name of Green Arrow? Rather than having characters arrive on screen in full costume with their sensational superheroic names, DC want their character's to develop and earn their titles, ensuring that the audience gets attached to the people in the program. This is certainly helping the character development, as Oliver Queen is a different person in the show's third season than he was when he first arrived home from the island, and it means that the show has a constant mystery to clear up. Early in the show Malcolm Merlyn spoke to Oliver Queen about what the new vigilantes name should be, offering up suggestions like Green Arrow before laughing this notion off. The name still hasnt quite caught on, but the show is moving in the right direction. He is now known as 'The Arrow' so it can't be long before he gets a Green put in front of it. In the second season Oliver Queen pledged to stop killing in order to honour Tommy's memory, but he is obviously struggling to stick to this solemn oath at the moment. Until he can control himself, he won't be getting the full title of his comic book counterpart.
