20 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About Breaking Bad

4. Anyone Could Have Died

AMC

One of the most widely reported pieces of Breaking Bad trivia is that Jesse was originally intended to be killed off near the end of Season 1, with Aaron Paul's performance and the shrinking of that first run by the writers strike ensuring he became an essential part of the show's success. But that to some degree distracts from the fact that pretty much every character (Walt aside) could have been for the chop at any point.

Vince Gilligan has never shied away from admitting that the specifics of the show were always changing, with the fifth season starting out without the exact events of Felina defined. Clearly this freeform technique helped make show's writing some of the best ever committed to television, but also spawned a lot of unexplored possibilities. And chief among them is the characters almost killed off, with Gilligan saying in the writer's room no one, not even baby Holly White, was safe.
