5. Hermes Wasn't Meant To Be Jamaican (And Was Called Dexter)

Already in this list I've looked at the involved namings of characters, but now I'm going to turn my sights to what might have been. Who could have been the stars of Doomsville? Well, it could have been the exploits of Curtis Fry and his robot buddy URL (pronounced Earl). Doesn't your skin just crawl at the thought?

Fry's name changed to allow for the previously mentioned tribute to Hartman, while URL became the name of the robot peace officer. More last minute than those was what happened to Hermes. Originally named Dexter, he wasn't meant to be Jamaican until Phil LaMarr suddenly did it in recording. That's why his limbo past wasn't revealed until later; the writers needed time to create this new character.
