20 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About The Simpsons

7. Paul McCartney Was One Of The Most Important Guests

Paul

In it€™s twenty-four seasons The Simpsons has had over six hundred celebrity guest stars, but few had such a memorable impact as Paul McCartney. The last Beatle to appear on the show (both Ringo and George beat him to it), he and Linda only agreed to do the episode Lisa The Vegetarian if the Simpson daughter kept to her no meat-eating ways.

But beyond that, the episode has one of the more involved appearances. The end credit rendition of Maybe I'm Amazed is overcut with a recipe for lentil soup said backwards (a realisation of a joke Paul made in the episode), including a myth busting aside; €œOh, and by the way, I'm alive€ (many fans believed Paul died in 1966 and was replaced by an imposter).

The Beatles were always dogged with accusations of hidden messages in their songs, so it was refreshing to see Paul send that up in the most irreverent way possible.
