20 More TV Acting Performances That Are Totally Flawless
8. Elizabeth Olsen - WandaVision
Despite her character's complexities and immeasurable powers, Elizabeth Olsen always felt slightly underused in the MCU, particularly in comparison to her bigger-name co-stars. A typical supporting character if ever there was one, it made for a welcome development when she was given the chance to helm her own story with the miniseries WandaVision (alongside the also-brilliant Paul Bettany).
A wildly inventive homage to TV sitcoms, as well as a striking assessment of Wanda Maximoff's grief and mourning, the show finds Scarlet Witch at her most powerful, confused, conflicted and compelling.
Olsen's performance is an absolute revelation throughout the show's nine-episode run, and one of the key reasons it was such a rousing success. Finally given the chance to really dig into Wanda's inner turmoil, Olsen finds a great amount of humour and trauma in the character, bringing her to life in a tragically human way, whilst also reminding audiences of her emotional and physical strength.
With an upcoming role in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness, it's also a joyous fact that Olsen isn't done with the role she's perfected just yet.
