11. The Walking Dead - Andrea
The first of two appearances of characters from The Walking Dead in this article, Andrea is the absolute worst.
Andrew honestly seems to believe herself to be a natural leader and decision-maker, despite every single scrap of evidence suggesting very much otherwise. Constantly finding herself in danger, and usually danger of her own making, she’s reliant on other people digging her out of the holes she plunges into. Despite this, she maintains a stubborn belief that she’s this capable, no-nonsense tactician and warrior.
She isn’t. Her decisions usually lead to bloodshed, almost never hers - and eventually to her sleeping with the biggest psychopath around, under the misguided impression that he’s one of the good guys.
Irritating, delusional and ludicrously incompetent, Andrea is The Walking Dead’s best ever candidate for the Darwin Awards. It’s astonishing that she lasts as long as she does… until her final moments, which are so overwrought, so heavy with supposed dramatic tension, that it becomes clear that the writers genuinely think the character is worth something.
