20 Things You Didn't Know About Friends

15. Doctor Drake Ramoray Is A Silver Fox

A little known fact about Matt LeBlanc is that he€™s been dyeing his hair black since before the pilot of Friends. That's not a recent look he's sporting specifically for Episodes: he began to go grey shortly before landing the role of Joey Tribbiani, but rightly twigged that a young man in his mid-twenties was more likely to succeed as a jobbing actor if he didn€™t have salt n€™ pepper hair, this being shortly before George Clooney made going grey rather appealing in his breakout role in ER. For a while, treating LeBlanc€™s hair was the job of the show€™s make-up department, but of course this involved him sitting in make-up for ninety minutes at a time. Eventually he went it alone, like every other guy his age, and opted to apply his own Just For Men at home. Now that he€™s a distinguished 47 years old, LeBlanc€™s past caring. In his current role as a hyperreal version of himself, he sports his natural hair colour. Well, he can get away with it now. He€™s Matt LeBlanc€ in this instance, twice over.
