In the show’s pilot episode, when Walt is told by the doctor that he has terminal cancer, the doctor estimates that he has roughly 2 years to live.
And, this takes place just after his 50th birthday.
When the series ends and Walt goes on his final revenge rampage before being shot and killed, you will notice that this happens just after his 52nd birthday. Therefore, it’s been around two years. The doctor was pretty much right.
