Much like Six Feet Under, Lost was a show that had a divisive final leg, but even so kept its legions of fans enraptured with its genre-mixing drama, intense mystery-driven narrative, and unrivalled world-building, all of which was blended together to create one of the most fascinating stories ever put to the small screen.

Damon Lindelof and J. J. Abrams' vision makes for a show impossible to fully dissect here, since it started off a thrilling tale of survival and quickly evolved into a twisting sci-fi epic, a gloriously perplexing mystery, and finally a supernatural journey through time itself that asked more questions than it answered.

Lost was at once frustrating and awe-inspiring, constantly putting its audience on edge with inexplicable plot twists but doing it with such gusto and intelligence that looking away was never an option. And though its finale ruined things for many fans, Lost remains a magnificent achievement that demands to be seen again and again.
