16. Better Call Saul

One of only two shows on this list to still be running, Better Call Saul is the risky but enthralling spin-off to the beloved drama Breaking Bad, and has proved to be such a staggering success that many fans and critics consider it to be better than its near-perfect predecessor.

A prequel following the exploits of crafty criminal lawyer Saul Goodman, as played by the irreplaceable Bob Odenkirk, the show has found a way to build on the lore of Breaking Bad without copying its distinctive style and narrative progression, despite the fact it's essentially another tale of one man's rise (and fall) to the top.

Bursting with career-best performances, especially from Odenkirk and franchise newcomer Rhea Seehorn, and rife with well-place fan service, returning characters and ominous foreshadowing, the show's about to enter its sixth and final season, and promises to cement itself as one of TV's best dramas in the process.
