Kate OMara sadly passed away after a short illness, aged 74, on 30th March and will be fondly remembered by Doctor Who fans for her portrayal of the Rani and just last year she expressed an interest in reprising her role as the show's iconic villain as she revealed: The older woman is often the villainess figure. Its an idea to be exploited. She was praised for her energy and vitality as her agent, Phil Belfied, described her as a shining star".
