21 Problems Only Friends Fans Will Understand

4. Wanting (But Unable) To Live Like The Friends Do

NBC

The characters on Friends all seem to have pretty great lives. Sure, there's the occasion emotional turbulence, but it all works out alright in the end. For the most part they have good jobs, all live in a very nice area of Manhattan, are very good looking and enjoy relationships with a string of similarly attractive people, and of course are able to spend entire days sitting in a coffee house without any real worries or pressure to actually do things like go to work.

Watching Friends it's easy to imagine living a life like that, but sadly the reality isn't so great. You probably don't look like a Hollywood actor (but if you do, great), you can hardly afford a holiday to New York, nevermind actually live there, and you do actually have to go to work all day. And then, when you get out of work, most of the coffee shops will be starting to close for the day. There comes a point when you have to grow-up and realise life isn't going to be like it is on the show, but that's ok, because when you get home from work, guess who's there for you?
