21 TV Shows With Iconic Theme Songs

19. Happy Days

Series Debut: 1974 Happy Days' theme song, also titled "Happy Days," is yet another TV theme song to make it onto the Billboard charts. Written by Norman Gimbel and Charles Fox, and first recorded in 1974, it was originally played only during the closing credits of the show, and "Rock Around the Clock" was used as the actual theme song. However, starting in the third season, "Happy Days" - in a newly recorded version by Pratt & McClain - became the show's opening theme. It was a successful switch, and Pratt & McClain released a single of the song, which went to #5 on the Billboard charts. Bobby Arvon would also re-record the song in 1983 in a version that was used for the opening and closing credits of the eleventh season of the show, but it's the Pratt & McClain version that is best known. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6zl5x8r9Bs
