The Quatermass Experiment and its subsequent stories had a profound influence on Doctor Who. The idea of missing space crew and humans mutating into plants in The Quatermass Experiment can be seen in such classics as The Ambassadors Of Death and Meglos. The threat in the London underground faced in Quatermass And The Pit is clearly paid tribute to in the recently recovered The Web Of Fear.
