15. Air Force One Is Shot Down (Season 4, Episode 16)
One of the most gripping moments from the incredibly convoluted fourth season of 24 was when Air Force One was threatened by a rogue fighter pilot. President John Keeler was on-board with his son Kevin, and right up to the last moment, nobody expected Fox to have the balls to actually have Air Force One crash. However, the episode ended with the iconic craft being damaged and disappearing off the radar, leaving viewers on tenterhooks for a whole week... In the next episode, we learn that Keeler's son died in the crash, but Keeler himself did survive, though was comatose (due to Fox refusing to allow a sitting President to die in any of their shows). The 25th Amendment was invoked to swear Charles Logan into office in his place, while Keeler was never heard from again.
14. Mandy Returns (Season 4, Episode 22)
One of the all-time greatest 24 moments was the return of Mandy (or "Naked Mandy", as fans love to call her) at the end of season four. After having last appeared at the end of season two to poison President Palmer, we see Mandy again getting up to some sexy escapades, before she is discovered by CTU for helping Habib Marwan pull off the day's ridiculous course of events. However, the ever-resourceful Mandy ends up taking Tony hostage in order to secure her escape, though is ultimately caught by Jack and Curtis. This could have been the perfect opportunity to sew up the Mandy storyline, but instead she is granted immunity for her crimes by revealing Marwan's location. This is the last time we've seen Mandy in 24 so far, and though the writers have toyed with bringing her back again, they've expressed the feeling that it would seem too ridiculous for her to return merely for the sake of fan service.
