Jack is nearing the end of the longest day of his life. After countless assassination attempts on presidential candidate David Palmer and a series of family kidnappings, we are nearing the end of the first season. Kim has once again been abducted and Jack is on his way to the Port of Los Angeles to trade his life for hers. Unfortunately, he didnt know Kim has escaped and the recently revealed mole, Nina Myers, informs Jack that his daughter has been murdered in an attempt by the Drazen family to trap him. Instead, it backfires on them. In a blind rage and overcome by the apparent loss of his daughter, Jack storms the Drazen compound, killing anyone in his way. He drives a van straight through the buildings wall, takes out two henchmen before giving chase to the Drazens. Wielding a gun in each hand, he engages in a western-style shoot out with Andre and Victor Drazen. After Jack shoots Andre in the chest, Victor manages to wound Jack and steps forward to finish the job only to realise his clip is empty. Victor raises his arms and surrenders as Jack gets back to his feet and aims his gun at him. Theres a moment of relief for Victor as he lowers his arms before Jack unleashes his entire clip into his chest. It was an exciting and dramatic gunfight and not just one of the best moments the first season had to offer, but one of the best in the shows history. In earlier episodes Jack showcased his tenacity and skill, but not his vengefulness; this was that moment when audience saw just what happened when you crossed Jack Bauer.
