As I sit in my living room in the middle of the night writing this piece and watching the finale of season 5 where he is led away by his Secret Service under arrest for treason, I feel like the biggest question should be whether or not this weasel cheated death once again in the series finale. President Logan, the man responsible for his predecessor David Palmer's assassination, selling nerve gas to terrorists, and causing his arch nemesis Jack Bauer's total misery for the better part of a decade, was last seen taking a bullet to the head to prevent arrest for murder and conspiracy, among a long list of other charges, and this time taking another U.S. president down with him in his corruption. Gregory Itzin's Emmy nominated performance as the reprehensible Commander In Chief is one of the greatest I've ever seen on television, and for years loyal fans watched him cheat jail time and death time and time again. It's no ill will against Itzin, however, when I say that when that last gunshot was heard before the cut to commercial the last time 24 was on the air, I jumped for joy like world hunger had been cured only to find out after the commercial that while Logan suffered brain damage, he had in fact survived a bullet to the head. I've invested years of my life into seeing him go down in the worst way possible, and so of all the questions that could possibly be answered during this new season, the one that I personally feel has to be answered is whether or not Charles Logan is still alive, and I'm banking on a no. 24: Live Another Day premieres in the U.S. on 5 May on FOX, and the UK premiere will follow shortly afterward on Sky 1.
