If Jack is the all-action hero then Secret Service Agent Aaron Pierce is the silent hero of 24. Looking back through past seasons it’s easy to forget that Pierce has been part of the 24 furniture since the very beginning; he was in charge of the Secret Service team assigned to protect Senator David Palmer in season one.

Pierce is what you imagine a real life Secret Service agent to be: a dedicated individual that displays the utmost professionalism who is willing to put their life on the line for their country. An individual who gets on with the job without any fuss, as exemplified when Olivia Taylor thanks him for taking a bullet for her during day seven’s White House hostage crisis. Pierce, as ever, is quick to downplay.

However there have been times when he has felt it necessary to act morally disloyal to his superiors. Most notably when playing instrumental parts in bringing down both President Charles Logan and Olivia Taylor. On a separate note, the only good thing to transpire on day five was the heartwarming kinship developed by Pierce and Martha Logan. But like most good things on 24, for reasons unknown it didn’t last.
