22. Stana Katic
Another highly popular American procedural series is Castle, which sees Nathan Fillion's crime writer Richard Castle brought onboard as a consultant by the New York Police Department. He is paired with homicide detective Kate Beckett, played by Stana Katic, who becomes both the source of inspiration for his latest series of novels and his love interest. With Fillion already known for his role on the prematurely cancelled Firefly, Katic has been the revelation of the show, playing off of her leading man in an effective manner to create an enjoyable series. It is not the only series that she has been a part of, however, as the Canadian actress has also played roles in Heroes, the acclaimed Batman: Arkham game series and even the James Bond films. Before any of those, however, Katic appeared in four episodes of 24's fifth season, playing a terrorist information broker named Collette Stenger who is hired by the season's primary villain, Vladimir Bierko to source a set of building schematics.
21. Tobin Bell
"Hello Jack Bauer, I want to play a game" Present as a minor character actor in a number of films throughout the eighties and nineties, including Goodfellas and In The Line Of Fire, Tobin Bell became a horror icon when he took on the role of John Kramer, otherwise known as Jigsaw, in the first iteration of the Saw franchise in 2004. Though the Saw series soon became a horror cash cow and outstayed its welcome on the big screen, Bell remained a consistent presence, playing the role on seven different occasions. In 24's second season, Bell played Peter Kingsley, a businessman who plots to force American military action in the Middle East by detonating a nuclear bomb over Los Angeles, making his oil holdings more scarce and therefore more expensive. Ostensibly the season's main villain as a result, the character is quite a forgettable one in retrospect, however, given the dragging nature of season two's final hours.
