25 Best Superhero TV Shows Of All Time

14. Legion

Arrow Season 1
FX

Legion is something of a rare beast in that it doesn't really feel like a superhero show, and yet it's one of the best modern variations that the genre has to offer.

An incredibly clever premise, it centers on Charles Xavier's son who faces psychiatric hospital after psychiatric hospital due to his bout with schizophrenia. However, it's clear that there's more to it than that, as he possesses a number of supernatural abilities such as telepathy and telekinesis - which he ends up needing when he's hunted by mutant terminator organisation Division 3.

Here's the thing with Legion: It's already a great series on the surface; it's gripping, enticing and its premise sets it apart from the rest of the shows on this list, it's true beauty, however, lies beneath. A myriad of labyrinths intentionally designed by an unreliable narrator to confuse us viewers, the show is an indistinguishable art form that transcends conventions and, in many ways, even defies meaning.
