25 Best Superhero TV Shows Of All Time
5. Batman
Perhaps the most famous piece of superhero television of all time, the classic 1966 TV series of Batman really was quite something. A tongue-in-cheek version of the legendary Caped Crusader, it was pivotal in turning the DC Comics character into the pop-culture phenomenon that he is today and it did so by becoming something of a phenomenon itself.
Unquestionably a product of its time, it's easy to sneer at the ridiculous concepts, ludicious costumes or wacky adventures, but the truth is that Batman was a lot more clever than it let on. It was ridiculously self-aware in the lunacy of its own concept that it thrived on being so, and it was all complemented by Adam West's perfect almost theater-esque delivery of each and every line that came out of Batman/Bruce Wayne's mouth.
A colorful bonanza complete with large colorful onomatopoeic words to boot, Batman is a ridiculously unforgettable piece of history that changed the game for superheroes on television and it had a lot of fun doing so. As a result, so did we... every single Bat-time.
