25 Facts You Probably Didn't Know About True Blood

7. Eric And Jason, Sitting In A Tree...

Fan fiction came to life at the beginning of season seven when Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) and Eric Northman (Alex Skarsgard) got frisky with one another in a memorable four and a half minute dream sequence. While discussing the scene, Kwanten said that he and Skarsgard would always complain that they rarely get to work together on the show, so this was the writers' unique way of bringing them together on screen. The chain of events leading up to the sequence began near the end of the previous season when Eric fed Jason his blood to heal him, saying, "When you dream of me, dream of nice things." After Northman burst into flames in the season six finale, his first appearance in the final series came when a dreaming Jason imagined a steamy sexual encounter between the two of them At the end of the dream, Jason wakes up in a church and seems as surprised as most of the viewers were. Writer Kate Barnow hopes that a gag reel of Kwanten's 20+ filmed reactions will one day see the light, as they were reportedly some of the funniest moments she had ever seen during her time working on the show. Many fans also hope that more moments from behind the scenes of the dream sequence are also unveiled upon the DVD's release.

6. Who Says Blondes Have More Fun?

One of the most unusual characters on True Blood is Jessica Hamby, a suppressed Christian girl who radically transformed when Bill Compton turned her into a vampire. Freed from her religious family, Jessica embraced the darker side of Bon Temps at first, but began to struggle with her new-found identity. As one of the hottest redheads on TV today, actress Deborah Ann Woll has now won another high-profile role, playing love interest Karen Page in the upcoming Netflix produced Daredevil series. Woll's most striking feature in True Blood is her vibrant red hair, but did you know that she's really a natural blonde? The rising actress has been dying her hair red since the age of 14, but fortunately for Woll, the character Karen Page is blonde in the comics, so she'll save lots of money on red hair dye. Fans who feel cheated by this news may be pleased to hear that at least Woll's skin is genuinely pale and that she didn't fake that too!

5. Vampires Can Be Nice Too!

Most of the vampires in True Blood are amoral selfish creatures whose sole aim in life is to satisfy their own desires, but fortunately, the actors who play them in real life are much kinder. For instance, Deborah Ann Woll campaigns to raise awareness of choroideremia, a rare inherited disorder that causes progressive lack of vision. The condition only affects males for the most part and usually starts in childhood in the form of night blindness. Woll's boyfriend Edward Scott suffers from the disorder and Woll herself has been quoted as saying that her partners bravery in fighting his disability has inspired her own battle with celiac disease, which makes her body intolerant to foods containing gluten. Perhaps Woll's experience with choroideremia inspired her to pursue the role of Karen Page, girlfriend to the blind superhero Daredevil...

4. Harris In Merlotte's!

Born November 25th, 1951, bestselling author Charlaine Harris has been working as a mystery writer for over 20 years now. While her earlier pieces consisted mainly of plays and poetry, the Southern Vampire Mysteries collection starring Sookie Stackhouse became a bestselling hit following the release of the first book in 2001, taking only seven years to make the transition from the page to the small screen. As the creator of the original source material, Harris was bound to appear in an episode of True Blood eventually, but did you know that she's actually played a cameo role in two separate episodes? Harris's first appearance on the show was in the finale to season two, where she played a patron at Merlotte's bar. Hopefully, she didn't have to pay for her drinks as she technically owns the place... Charlaine's second and final cameo on True Blood was in the last episode, where she briefly appeared in the final scene, working behind the scenes on a teleprompter, writing Eric and Pam's lines for an informercial they're working on. It's hard to imagine a more perfect cameo for the creator of these characters, bringing a powerful sense of closure to the long running show.
