25 Facts You Didn't Know About Doctor Who

13. Ace The Time Lord

If Doctor Who had not been cancelled in 1989 and Season 27 had gone into production, Ace would have been written out in the second story; an adventure involving Ice Warriors in the London Dungeon titled €œIce Time€. The end of this story would have revealed that the Doctor had been covertly training Ace to become a Time Lord so that she would be able to go to the Prydon Academy on Gallifrey and inject new vigour into the Time Lords. The story would have ended with the Doctor and Ace parting ways so she could become a Time Lord, and the Doctor would gain a new companion (an upper class cat burglar) in the next story €œThe Crime Of The Century€.

12. The Children Of Time's Extra Members

At varying points of the scripting process for The Stolen Earth and Journey€™s End, the Children Of Time had some additional members in the form of Elton Pope (Love And Monsters), Midshipman Frame, and Mr Copper (both Voyage Of The Damned) Elton is mentioned in Davies€™ Series 4 breakdown from early 2007 but never appears in any subsequent material, Frame had to be written out because of Russell Tovey being unavailable to film the episode, and Mr Copper would have been given Harriet Jones€™ role if Penelope Wilton was unavailable.
