25 New And Returning TV Shows To Watch This Summer

Extant premiered last summer with a pretty interesting hook: an astronaut, played by Halle Berry, returns home only to find herself pregnant after being alone in space for 13 months. 

We won't get into too many spoilers, but let's just say that the answer to that hook is pretty much exactly what you'd imagine. Towards the end of the season, the show left a whole lot up in the air for Season 2, especially involving Molly Woods's son. The trailer released from CBS teases some of what we have to look forward to, promising that the most elusive questions will be answered. We'll see about that.

Due to a bit of a shift in storyline for the second season, the cast is a little different this time around. Halle Berry will return as the star, but regular cast members Hiroyuki Sanada and Michael O’Neill are out among a few others. The show will also be introducing some new characters including one played by David Morrissey of The Walking Dead.

Season 2 of Extant premiers on CBS on July 1st.
