Ray, Paul, Ani and a fleet of cops head to Amarilla's cookhouse looking for answers, and they certainly weren't expecting the full-on gunfight that took place over the next 10 minutes, now known as the Vinci Massacre. It's easily the most memorable action sequence of Season 2, and while not as impressive as Cary Fukunaga's incredible six-minute tracking shot from the first season, stands tall on its own as a riveting, intense set-piece. Numerous cops, criminals and civilians are killed in the shootout, including Detective Dixon, who dies from a shot to the head mid-gunfight, all the more shocking because, despite being a prominent character, his demise isn't lingered on at all, and he's barely mentioned in later episodes.
