Clara Oswald faced an impossible ultimatum in Series 8 when she was forced to choose between planet Earth or the Moon. The result? One of the biggest "WTF?!" moments in Doctor Who history that made absolutely no sense whatsoever, even within the relative terms of the show's pre-established mythology. And that's saying something! The Moon is a giant dragon egg, apparently, and the writers just expected us to believe that. The daft development proved to be so controversial that it was the final nail in the coffin for some viewers who, like Clara, bid farewell to the TARDIS once and for all at the end of the episode. And unlike Clara, they didn't come back the following week. Ouch.
