Ever thought you'd see former "The West Wing" and "Wayne's World" actor Rob Lowe in Slough? No? Well, it's happening - with Lowe set to star in the upcoming series "Apocalypse Slough", which is a collaboration between NBC and Sky One. Set in the Berkshire Town, it imagines how the end of the world would look from the point of view of the residents there when earth is threatened by an eight-mile-wide comet. Lowe plays "Father Jude", a rebellious Catholic priest, while there will also feature a white supremacist, a bank manager, a cyber-terrorist, a potential zombie-child and an American five-star general in one of the most-bizarre-sounding series ever. The Selling Point: Rob Lowe is great in everything he appears in - and apocalyptic disasters are all the rage right about now. The Concerns: It's set in Slough. Yes it gives the show an extremely convenient name - but what other reason could there possibly be for setting anything, other than "The Office", there?
