3 Changes To Fix American Idol, The X Factor and The Voice

The X Factor1. An Engaging Host What I'm about to say is probably pretty clear to Simon. He knows how reality singing competitions work and he knows what went wrong. I bet he could make this entire list himself if he wanted. He's basically doing what I would have suggested, but let's just say it anyways. The X Factor needs an engaging host. Last year, Steve Jones was criticized for being wooden, unrelatable, and cheesy, so they fired him. This year as the clock ticks down, a search for a host is sure to be in the wings. Simon is over the moon with how much buzz The X Factor is creating and is waiting until the Britney hype is over before he will search for - or possibly announce - a proper host. You don't want two stars outshining each other right? Keep the hype going with one superstar at a time.2. Keep An Eye on Britney If there was ever a smarter choice for a judge than Britney, I don't know who it would be. She's arguably the biggest star in any of these shows and is bringing baggage of her own. She has been the source of multiple scandals, criticisms, and raging fans who want people to leave her alone. Everyone is tuning in to see how she fares after being taught to shut it for so long. But like Spider-man always says, "With great power comes great responsibility." She needs to be kept happy and Simon knows this. She also can't have the meltdown people are lining up to see like a circus act and more importantly, if this season works out, Simon better hope his pen actually is a magic wand so he can lure Britney in for the following seasons to come.3. Make a Star Again, Simon knows this and he states it over and over. These shows need to create stars. The only reason American Idol worked out is because the likes of Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood happened to wake up and decide to audition. Idol has created an alumni of stars - though too few to be honest - and the promise to have a career like Kelly or Carrie's will always be a selling point. In The X Factor, singing is second only to star power. Very few people know a star when they see one and Simon is one of those lucky few. He knows that Melanie Amaro just wasn't what they were looking for so he's all but forgotten about the inaugural season of The X Factor and has set his sights to make a true star who will sell millions and millions of albums. Good luck Simon, I'll be here to judge your judging!Next Up: Our plans to fix The Voice. Click next to reveal all...
