2. Excellent Character Development
While I may not like every episode of Adventure Time, I know that most of the time it serves a purpose. Character development. Take the 'Burning Low' episode for example. I don't like it very much because it seemed like a rather slow-paced episode that wasn't nearly as funny as 'Incendium'(it was the first episode in this two-part event) and the most cliche episode to date, in my opinion. But, that doesn't mean it was a pointless episode. It established the relationship between Finn and Flame Princess and when this episode aired, it open many doors for development. How does this change Finn's feelings for PB? How will Finn handle having a girlfriend when he's such a spontaneous guy? Will Finn's and FP's free-spirited nature help or destroy the relationship? How will they handle being around each other, because, you know, Finn
could DIE in this relationship? How will good-doer Finn handle Flame Princess's evil dad? How long can this last? Every question except the last one, has been answered throughout the episodes and were handled pretty well. Of course there are many other examples of great development that is not exclusive to Finn alone. We get to see the rocky relationship between PB and Marceline grow. Don't forget PB and Lemongrab. For every episode about Ice King we get to see how he is just a sad, lost old man. Plus, they change clothes quite often which is rare in cartoons. Also, remember Jake and Lady? Well that leads me to my next point.
