I don't watch a lot of TV anymore. But when I do, I usually watch cartoons and movies. Why? Well, I don't care for people who use a lot of hairspray and have tans (Jersey Shore) or flat out ignorance(Honey Boo Boo). I also don't care for people who depends on their spouses'or ex-spouses'-to get a show (any Housewives/Wives show). Nor do I care for...females...who get paid to act like 12 year old girls when they're well in adulthood (any Bad Girls Club show). Don't get me started on the pawn shops. So, "reality" shows are not an option. Sure there are more intellectual shows out there, but they are usually boring or require a strict following to enjoy, which is a problem when you don't watch a lot of TV. So, when there are no good movies on, I watch cartoons. I enjoy many cartoons:'Regular Show', 'Young Justice'(that is one I did strictly follow), 'Mad', 'Family Guy', 'The Looney Tunes Show', and 'Bob's Burgers' just to name a few. However, 'Adventure Time' is awesome because it does somethings better than most-if not ALL-cartoons.
3. It Uses Its Universe To Its Fullest Potential
Adventure Time isn't the first cartoon to have a wacky world. It is no where near the first. It IS the first-in my cartoon knowledge anyway-that uses its world as much as possible. The Land of Ooo is a place where anything can happen and the episodes show it. There is a reason why the show is only called 'Adventure Time' and 'With Finn and Jake' is in subtitles. That is because the show is really about Ooo and Finn and Jake are just heroes in the vast land. It isn't afraid to re-direct focus to its rather large roster of characters. We could get an episode solely focused on the Ice King. Maybe we see PB tinker around and create something that could aid the kingdom but goes haywire. We can join Tree Trunks on her apple pie based adventures. Or we could see a random character appear for the first time and see how Finn and Jake react to them. The possibilities are endless and I the creators know it, so don't be surprised if this cartoon rivals 'The Simpsons' in longevity. I would even go as far to say it could maintain its quality, unlike our yellow friends. As for our heroes, they are just a crazy kid and his crazy dog. That is why a whole episode can just be about their imagination or Finn making up a story to cure Jake. We could see them playing Card Wars, or being trapped in a giant spider web. The show isn't afraid to be random in a rather random world unlike most cartoons. The only downside is that some episodes can come off as just plain stupid, but these are far and between. But you can forgive the occasional stupidity because of the...
