30 Greatest TV Sitcoms Of All Time
5. Frasier
The most successful spin-off from the wildly iconic Cheers, Frasier follows Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer), a psychiatrist and former regular at the titular Boston bar.
Moving to Seattle to take a job on a radio show, the series sees Frasier reconnecting with his father (John Mahoney) and brother (David Hyde Pierce) and attempting to form new relationships.
Thanks to the relationships of these characters (primarily that of brother Niles and physiotherapist Daphne) and the witty, mature performances of all the actors involved, Frasier has gone down as one of the most successful and well received spin-off shows of all time, and one which even improves on its predecessor in some respects.
Running for eleven seasons and 264 episodes, Frasier Crane is one of the longest-running characters in TV history, with Grammer portraying him for over twenty years.
Thanks to the immense popularity of the show and the fact that it remains much discussed by critics and audiences alike, there has been discussion of a coming revival. If all goes well, it could make the show bigger than ever.
