Deschanel portrays Jess Day, a teacher who finds herself living with three often dysfunctional men in a Los Angeles loft.
Despite this relatively typical sitcom write-up, New Girl's wit and characters - specifically Jess and Greenfield's womaniser, Schmidt - keep it elevated and surprising with every passing episode. Fast-paced, sweet and often quite touching despite its silliness, New Girl remains a re-watchable, lovable addition to the big world of sitcoms.
