It’s hard to believe but next year will mark a whole TEN YEARS since 30 Rock finally ended after seven glorious seasons on NBC. Long, long, long before anyone knew what a streaming service was and people still got their binge fixes on tv shows from services like Netflix through the post, 30 Rock would air every Thursday night as part of an incredible line-up of new sitcom comedy.
For 3 whole years, NBC’s Thursday night line-up included The Office: An American Workplace, Parks and Recreation, Community and 30 Rock in back to back airings. It’s sad to believe that none of those tv shows now air on our screens and now that spiritual successor Brooklyn Nine Nine has gone, there’s nothing remotely similar that can live up to the quality of these shows.
We truly didn’t know we were living in a golden age of television sitcom history when we were living it, did we?. Boy do we miss it now.
