2. Gotham (2014)

To a certain extent, the progression from Christopher Nolan's vision of Batman and a show focusing on the early years of Commissioner Gordon and the city before the Bat is a natural one. After all, for large portions of the Dark Knight trilogy, Nolan was very clear on his agenda to make Gordon and not Bruce Wayne the real hero of the piece, so it makes sense that we get to see that in full flow. There are any number of questions attached to the show, with the looming spectre of Batman's villains arguably the biggest, and how much we will see of the elements we're all familiar with from Batman coming a close second. But that's not really the point of Gotham, and we're all encouraged to embrace the idea of Gotham before its Dark Knight protector. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0d1zpt6k5OI The Selling Point: Gotham offers a chance to see Gotham as we've never really seen it before, as well as giving the second most important good-aligned character in the city his own story.
