Pitch: Set in Los Angeles, this prequel covers the period of time after Rick Grimes was knocked out and before he woke up in the first episode, as the world works its way up to "zombie apocalypse" from "ho hum, just an ordinary day in L.A.... hey, that one guy looks really weird."
Odds of Success Onscreen: Overwhelming. Not only is The Walking Dead the most successful series of the decade on basic cable, but prequels to known apocalypses seem to do well: see Planet Of The Apes.
